Submission is an interesting emotion. Somewhere between acceptance and apprehension we find the sensation and experience of submission.
There are many forms of submission, as there are many forms of every emotion. The ways in which they influence and impact our lives are often unknown within the moment, this makes emotions like submission a little harder to endure. We’re told to “let go” and “give in” to the higher powers we have no control over, but to relinquish control is not an easy task for every person.
Submission in this context can also be found in the definition of Deference, which is known as the condition of submitting to the espoused, legitimate influence of one’s superior or superiors. Deference implies a yielding or submitting to the judgment of a recognized superior, out of respect or reverence.
Those last few words hold all the power in regard to this specific emotion. The submission comes our of a place of respect and reverence, no purely out of force.
