Videos

Videography and Film has always been a deep passion. It’s one of the earliest formats that introduced me to the power of visual communications. For nearly 15 years now I have been jumping at every opportunity I can to assist, produce, and direct… even going as far as acting when necessary 😊 Here is a collection of a few videos created for various bands and businesses, these were all filmed and edited by myself.

While photographing various concerts and festivals I’ve been allowed to also capture video. Trying to capture the feeling of the audience and the event has always been as important as capturing the artists themselves. Here is a collection of some the favorite concert and festival videos I have filmed and edited. Here are some of the favorite concert and festival videos taken in support of written reviews and video productions.

Part of the majesty of film is taking the opportunity to create whatever you can imagine. I have directed several short films, as well as been approached to re-edit music videos. These projects test the boundaries on the creative process and have always been immense lessons. As a little note: The “Booooovision 2.0” is a visualizer without audio attached, it is best when played alongside the included playlist, when played on shuffle.

Photography

I have had the great fortune of photographing in some of the most beautiful places in the world, and with some of the most enjoyable organizations I can imagine. From the Grand Canyon in Arizona to frozen waterfalls in Iceland my work has taken me to some of the most indelible locations. The most important lesson that I’ve learned from these travels, that it’s never solely the location that makes a great photo, but rather the pursuit of something larger—a feeling, an atmosphere… the attempt at capturing and portraying the ethos of a scene, that’s the ultimate pursuit.

I have been gifted numerous opportunities to capture some amazing musicians and bands in venues all around the world. Of course, I’m partial to the Phoenix Arizona music scene as a local; places like The Crescent Ballroom, The Marquee, Comerica Theatre, and the newly minted Van Buren are always in the nighttime rotation. It’s been great to watch these venues rise to the caliber of some the most classic venues, establishing the Southwest, and specifically the Phoenix area as a legitimate destination for world-class performances. The days of feeling like a brief rest point between Texas and California are in the rear view. These photos were taken in support of written reviews and video productions.

The next best thing to an intimate concert is a festival stock-full of some of the best talent around. From Primavera Sound in Barcelona to Sasquatch! Music Festival in George, Washington I’ve been able to photograph some of the best performances, in the most idyllic locations. Here is a small collection of some of the favorite photos captured.
